About Food and Football

About – Mission

heidrun-ryze.jpeg

With the excitement growing all over the country – the cars with the flags re-appearing in the streets of Germany – I felt inspired to re-activate my FIFA World Cup Blog that had been sleeping for years.

Originally created after the 2006 World Cup in Germany,  out of shere gratefulness and wonder for an astonishing experience (see 2006 “About” statement below), the blog will now be mainly on those two great passions of mine: Food and Football.

I strive to do features about the national cuisines of all participating “32 countries” – food being another way to feel connected across borders. Experience the 32 nations through their food – experience “The World on Your Plate”. Follow me as I share with you the results of my explorations! (I am a vegetarian, by the way, currently with a strong tendency towards the raw vegan lifestyle, this will reflect in my posts.)

So it`s Food and Football now. And some Travel and other interesting stuff – all about those 32 countries! And not to forget interesting people to meet… contact them via Twitter and Blogs.

The original 2006 “About” statement:

The FIFA World Cup in Germany is over. For five glorious weeks in the summer of 2006, Germany hosted the world for an astonishing festival of football. What a great experience it has been! This blog is to say Thank You for being our guests, stay in touch and keep up the spirit!
